ScheduleShift starts vary and drivers work an average of 11 to 12 hours per day. Drivers can take 1 load, or 2-3 runs a few times a week & work a 6th if wanted.
EquipmentDrivers haul fresh bread from the distribution center in KC and deliver produce to warehouses owned by the baking company. No deliveries to stores or grocery warehouses. These are multi stop loads and 100 percent driver unload. Bread is either on wheels or in some cases drivers will use a 2 wheeled hand truck. The hand truck slips under a stack of bread and drivers should never have lift anything. Some loads use liftgate trailers and drivers are paid extra for unloading those.
Pay, benefits and extras
Average pay: $1,200 a week (reported by the hiring company; results vary)
- Riders: Riders must be at least 18 years old
- Paid time off: Vacation time starts to accrue from day one
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- 12+ months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- At least 21 years old
- Current DOT medical card and a clean drug screen
- Driving record: no more than 2 in the past 3 years
